Ordinary Failures 尋常的失敗 duo exhibition with Mo Chen

5-9 September 2025 @ Rooftop, Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong

A collaborative work that begins with attending to the ruins of modernity that we are submerged in every day. Materials and spaces that have lost or deviated from their intended functions don’t necessarily disappear; they become out of focus, haunting the everyday. As they transform into ruins, they take on their own paths, roots, spirits - their invisibility structured by the chaos, urgency, and speed of urban life. By the time we re-encounter them, their origins are often indeterminable and can only be speculated. In this exhibition, we explore the materiality of these slippages, the afterlives of objects, what persists when left unattended, sensing what is left behind, and tracing for possibilities.
