Mai Ling is an artist association/collective based in Vienna, contextualizing & fostering contemporary art, culture and discussion on Asian (with a focus on FLINT*) diaspora. Mai Ling Kocht is a series of haptic performances that aim to deconstruct recurring representations of the Asian female migrant body by questioning notions of exoticism, the kitchen and the sensorial, and aesthetic experiences of food. In the video ‘Food as Pleasure + Protest’, we explored the stickiness, the politics and the importance of comfort and comfort foods during the pandemic.
